Shipping & Returns

By accessing, browsing or purchasing from kitepower.com.au you signify your acceptance of the following (and reasonable) shipping & returns policy:

  • In most cases, goods are delivered to residents in Australia by Australia Post. Items valued at over $100 are sent by Registered Post or Courier - which will require a signature on delivery (so someone needs to be at the shipping address to sign during normal business hours).
  • We offer free shipping on orders valued over $200 (a signature is required). Items longer than 1m or heavier than 10kg may need to be sent via a Courier, and cannot be sent to a PO Box. We will contact you if this is the case, and you will need to provide a daytime address where someone can sign for the goods upon delivery.
  • If you return an item that was shipped for free and because you changed you mind, we will deduct a reasonable shipping fee from the refund for the item you returned.

*Free Shipping excludes certain large items, like surfboards wing/sup foil boards and large bulky items like travel bags.

Shipping to Remote locations:

If you purchase a bulky item* and are located in a remote location we will most likely contact you via phone or email to settle on a shipping fee.

In general, if the shipping fee comes out to be more than 10% (full price) or 5% (sale price) of the value of the order we will ask you to pay the difference.

Eg.

  • For full priced orders, if an order has a value of $500 and the most affordable shipping option available is $60 we will request $10 for shipping.
  • For sale priced orders, if an order has a value of $500 and the most affordable shipping option available is $60 we will request $35 for shipping.

*defined as having a packing length longer than 105cm and/or heavier than 2kgs.

Refunds

We will charge a fee (which is simply the non refundable fee charged to Kitepower by the credit card processor) if you use the the payment link on our invoices. The fee is 2.5% of the sale amount and will be deducted from your refund. This condition ONLY applies to payments made through the link on our invoices.

If you purchase directly from our website and pay via the website there will be no refund fee, and the same applies to PayPal payments as neither of these payment gateways charge non refundable fees on payments.

Description

The SIMBA Sentinel 1 is extremely lightweight, comfortable, and doesn’t hinder hearing, peripheral vision, or balance. A unique silhouette protects parts of the head specific to most water sport injuries – including the lower forehead, ears, jawlines, and cheeks – offering riders safer ocean experiences, and heightened confidence.
An idea paying reverence to the Ancient Warrior, the Sentinel 1 was developed to protect your face and head while minimizing bulk and vision issues. For the first time you feel as though you have nothing on your head.

Head Trauma
Accidents happen in an instant, most often caused by a crash, bad decision or split-second action. Head trauma is the leading cause of injury for surfers. By far the number one surfing accident is being hit in the head with your own board, followed closely by being hit in the head by another surfer’s board. Most often, the results of head-related incidents include scalp or facial lacerations, concussions, nasal fractures, dental issues and perforated eardrums. And this stuff can happen in all types of conditions, not just while surfing big waves or shallow, challenging reefs.

Shelter from Wind, Water and Sun
Beyond impact protection, helmets help keep water and wind out of our ears. This helps prevent a very common medical problem known as Surfer’s Ear, a condition where extra bone forms as lumps grow in the ear canal. Exposure to cold water and wind—especially the combination of the two—accelerates this growth. Its prevalence among surfers is high, with studies saying up to 60–80% of surfers worldwide will experience some degree of Surfer’s Ear during their lifetime.

In a 2015 study from Bond University in Australia, surfers are three times more likely than non-surfers to get melanoma, the most serious strand of skin cancer. The ears, top of the head and forehead receive excessive sun exposure in those who surf regularly. Helmets can help offer another layer of protection in the prevention of skin cancer.
"Its not debatable: wearing a helmet makes surfing safer. If you're wearing a helmet, you're less likely to get injured by your board or the reef. Helmets prevent these often serious facial/head injuries."
Dr David Gunn - Chief of Emergency Medicine, Queens General Hospital

Wiping out and striking the sea bottom (coral reef, sand, rocks) are also common causes of injury. Once this happens, it compounds the risk of drowning resulting from a loss of consciousness.

A lightweight, low-profile helmet engineered specifically for the safety of surfers and water sports enthusiasts. The Sentinel 1’s technically advanced design provides high-level impact protection with optimum aquadynamic performance.
